Safety & Liability Disclaimer
Last updated: October 13, 2026
Spoor is a planning and field-reference tool. It does not replace your own judgment, a licensed guide or outfitter, or the laws where you hunt. By using Spoor, you agree to the terms below.
1. You are responsible for following the law
Hunting laws, seasons, bag limits, licensing, tagging, weapon rules, land access, and import/export rules (including trophy and firearm transport) vary by country, state, province, and property. Spoor may show general information, but it is not legal advice and may be incomplete or out of date. You are solely responsible for knowing and obeying every law and regulation that applies to you, and for holding all required licenses, permits, and tags.
2. Maps, GPS, and boundaries may be wrong
Location, maps, waypoints, tracks, property lines, and boundary data can be inaccurate, delayed, or unavailable — especially in remote areas, without cell signal, or when your battery is low. Never rely on Spoor alone to determine where you are legally allowed to hunt or shoot, to navigate in an emergency, or to find your way back to camp. Carry a backup map, compass, or dedicated GPS device, and tell someone your plans.
3. Firearm and weapon safety
Spoor does not teach or certify safe weapon handling. Always follow the basic rules of firearm and archery safety, positively identify your target and what is beyond it, and follow the instructions of your guide or professional hunter. Ballistics, range, or shot-placement information shown in the app is for general reference only.
4. Outdoor and wildlife risks
Hunting involves serious risks, including dangerous game, weather, terrain, vehicles, remoteness from medical care, and disease. You participate at your own risk. Spoor’s weather, sunrise and sunset, and animal-activity information is an estimate and may be wrong.
5. Emergencies
Spoor is not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact local emergency services, your outfitter, or your professional hunter directly. Do not depend on the app to send or receive emergency messages.
6. Outfitters, guides, and third parties
Outfitters, guides, lodges, and other businesses shown in Spoor are independent third parties. The Pew Estate LLC does not employ them, guarantee their services, or take responsibility for their conduct, pricing, licensing, or safety practices. Any booking or payment is between you and them.
7. Content from other users
Trip reports, photos, locations, and advice posted by other users are their own opinions. We do not verify them and are not responsible for decisions you make based on them.
8. No warranty
Spoor is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, The Pew Estate LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as SpoorHunt, and its owners, contractors, and partners are not liable for any injury, death, property damage, fines, license loss, or other loss arising from your hunting activity or your use of, or reliance on, Spoor. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Spoor in the 12 months before the claim.
